i was hanging out with some friends this weekend and one of them says that he germed some seeds in some papertowels...

when he threw it in some soil TWO plants came out...

is it possible for two little plants to sprout from one seed??

apparantely it happened to 3 of his plants...

i haven't seen pictures but just want to ask around... is there any threat of the plants becoming rootbound, even though, technically, they already are, because apparantely, they're "siamese twins"...

lets talk about this... i don't have any pics, as the plants aren't mine, but that's how it happened. one seed, two plants, 3 times, same grow... could it be some sort of mutation with his particular seed strain????

yeah, since he's got so much to gain from lying to me, one of his closest friends...

we are not 17 anymore... we don't lie for the hell of it... it's called growing up dipshit....

and p.s. i saw them, there are most certainly 2 plants in those pots, and he is kind of experienced at this, so i dont think he noob'd and threw the two seeds in there....

i wasnt having a go lol , can i get some photos ? im just saying that its highly unlikely
Check out my Fucking Incredible grow journal. Two sprouts, one seed. That IS Fucking Incredible....

I'm not going to seperate them either. They are going to be grown in buckets with hydroton so they should be just fine (plenty of rootspace). I'm interested in seeing what happens if I grow them both out. What if one was male and one female, that would be a trip huh? I'd probably just go put it in it's own growbox (sign from Bud God's).

i can't post pics, they're not my plants, but yep, they're two sprouts from one seed alright... the two are comming out at about a few mm's apart. i've thrown two seeds in one bucket for kicks (in the same hole), and they grow further apart, i don't know what to make of this..... he's probably just going to let them grow out.... it's kind of nutz, his grow space is sort of for 4 plants, now he has seven...

he's just going to use a screen to try and keep the canopy as even as possible, and throw some CFL's on the sides if it gets too cramped.... and wait it out...

his soil and shit is FFocean forest, and the other foxfarm product that has humic acid in it, it's kind of a "kakhi" color, forgot the name.... they look about as green as green can get for now... about 1 week from when they sprouted from the ground... it's nuts because i saw them sprout (they all came out of the soil the same day) and there was only one per plant... 4 days later BOOOM, second plant....

So did they look like the pic I posted? I'm pretty interested in this. I'm even considering seperating it out from my others and building it a box. I want to see what happens with this! I can't belive he got a whole bunch this way and I've NEVER seen it before this batch. What the hell is goin' around these days?

Alright. I might know what's going on here, and I might find some beans just to do some experimenting. There is a theory that an exposed root will grow leaves. So if you plant the seed the wrong way (in rockwool particularly) and the taproot starts out going up, and then does a "u-turn" to head downward and that "u-turn" is exposed (via the hole in the top of the cube) it will sprout leaves.

I will admit that I didn't pay much attention to which way I put the seeds in and this is a strong possibility. Anyone else want to play along? Anyone ever expose a root and have it sprout leaves? I though it would just die via the light.

i can confirm a triple-sprout in one of his planters... the plant is around 1.5 weeks old... looking good... and as we watered yesterday, the 'top soil' shifted and revealed another baby leaf set sprouting... this one about 5 inches away from the other ones......

i think we got to the bottom of the mystery. he germed using the paper towel method, but didn't put them in the soil right when they sprouted.... he's not sure, but he guesses the tap root must have sprouted and about 1 week passed before he put them in the soil....... 3 sprouts from 1 seed in a planter.... nature is AWESOME!!
