k so i play guitar for a female singers side project shes doing. but its more or less formed into an actual band now which is wicked cos im diggin everything about it.
so we had myself on guitar, bass player, drummer, and singer/keys. our drummer has decided to leave australia (im from aus) and head to the USA... for a girl basicly....
which is sick for him and everything but finding a new drummer is a fucking pain we all know. our music was really based around hes drumming style as well so its a big loss.
ive played drums in 4 or so other bands in the last couple of years so i could possibly take the drummer role on the basis that i already really know what sound we want out of the drums. and finding a replacment guitarist instead would be a heap easier.
but iv recently become bored of drums and was really enjoying playing guitar in the band. im scared that ill become the drummer and get bored of the band in general. buuuut i really doubt we are ever going to find a decent drummer that will get our sound right so the band fall apart a bit.
advice? iv been thinking of being the drummer for jams/recording and then getting drummers to play live and play what i wrote. is that a shit idea? i think relying on a different drummer every gig will be difficult...
