hello

i have never had to do this before nor can i see anything in the stickies / quick flip in this section

i made a monster plant( a whole 4x4x6 tent one plant) the top parts that are engulfing the light are getting thick and frosty but the lower section is filling in at a slower right ......so i need to multi stage harvest the plant to get the most out of the the investment

how do u do this .............what are the rules ...........what should i avoid doing...........what do i need to do

normally i clip the whole branch and then section it off so some stem is still on it for dry/curing............but this one i have no idea where i should cut /not cut what i should remove and how low i should take off ................as for timing i was assuming i would know when to cut again since they will have gotten phater

advice please

But they guy who Told me about this says he just snips off te colas and everything that looks ready! An let every thing else go for a week or more
He also said to put vasilene on the cut but idk bout that

I think you'd be good to just chop off the tops.
And let the rest go for a week or untill it's ready.

The way I see it going for my harvest.
All the tops look great and are saying they want to be chopped.
But the bottoms are tellin me that they still want more time,
So what I plan to do is to remove all the tops! Trying to keep all the cuts in the same general area so all the plants generally stay in the same highth. Lower the light and let em do there thing

Like I said in my other comment I am a newb,
Still trying to diel in my grows.
So that's just what I'm going to do with my plants.
I did have to remove a top of one of mine, for an unexplainable reason. But not to harvest
The plant seems to be doing great
With out its top

I hope I helped at least alittle.
If you do cut in sections you should give me an update on how it's going pm
Or just make a thread I'm eager to see how it works out

I accomplished this my last grow. Harvested the tops. Removed SOME foliage and gave the bottoms a week and a half later. MUCH smaller scale though.

How did that work out for you?? I said I. The previous comment I took the top off of one of mine, now all the lower sections is taking off !!
Btw justugh I had a post a couple days ago on the same topic it a few good responses, might be a page or two back but I did it on this section

yes Vaseline on the cuts plugs it and the plant wont hate you for doing so. the one who said that knows his stuff. done that in the outdoors a few times when needed smoke take 2 big buds or more and let the rest go on just use room temp Vaseline and smear into the open cut dont cut at 45 but cut at 90.

welll let me share this
fallow the recirulating DWC feed plant for the Flora by GH and u will grow a plant that takes up a whole 4x4x6 tent ..........the plant u see is a auto flowering grown using that plan for 5 weeks before i figured out i was doing it wrong ...........anyone can make a plant that big just keep the balance right

ok so what i am getting is
top all the thick hard buds ..........remove some of the upper fan leaves /re adjust height of light and give 2 weeks longer .............strait cuts not angles...........and use some vaseline jelly on the cuts to seal it up

can i ask do i tirm down on the main stalk the main cola was removed 4 weeks back due to light damage and it pushing the light up and hitting top of tent (so those inner buds are those side shoot offs from the main stalk with about 8 inchs down untill the branching )

and when i do this topping of the buds should i give anything to the plant to help it recover from shock or help it just do better on the other ones (besides the normal list of stackers)

Wait is that just one plant or is there a few I'm there ?!?

But That sounds about right! If your nervous just try one plant instead of all(if you have more then one)
If it helps the top that got cut off of my 3-4 week flowering plant didn't drop. Infact the internodes seem to be doin great

Worked out great. I saw a 20-30% increase in size and the product was as good if not better. I continue feeding , at a hugely reduced rate, to give her what she needs. I was very happy with the results. I did NOT put anything on the cuts. mmmmmmmmmm this time

Newbie 1 you need to read some posts/debates on the flushing topic. If you feel the need to starve your plants then start flushing before you harvest the tops and continue with phed water till final.

in a hydro system u exchange all the water out and then use a flush mix

i have one more week of feed then i clear out the water (4 gallon system drain it all out then add 3 gallons of fresh water clean that out then add 4 gallons of water and the flush stuff leave it alone for 3 to 4 days then clip)

after the clip trim down the bush use the honey on the cuts and change the water out for what i am using for the feed

at this point the plant gets almost 2 gallons of water a day to fill what it took out every 8 to 12 hours i check the lvl and the ph
