Mr. Black Thumb, strikes again!

Ack, ok, so you're looking at 4 weeks growth with the Aerogarden Deluxe. I've been intentionally under-nut'ing these guys because my first attempt burned them. I killed 4 of the 7 this way.

Been watching the PH close and keeping it around 6.0. I put a humidifier behind the plants to help knock up the humidity (was around 20% before).

I bought a 600W HPS / MH Conversion kit over the weekend. The MH bulb, 12 inches above, above killed them. Temp under this setup was around 85 degrees F, I think.

I swapped out the MH for the HPS bulb and moved the fixture 24 inches up and tried another 12 hours of light. This time, some of the leaves on my toughest plant look burnt and slightly brown. Temp stays a consistent 84 degrees during lighting.

What to do to rescue my babies and get their growth really going? Should I give them a break from the light?

Alternate the lighting to avoid over-heating (1 hr on, 1 hour off---24x7) ?

Off the right right of the light, is a cyclone fan blowing directly on the fixture whenever it's on.

Any help, I'd be so grateful. Nute recommendation (i.e. "This nute will save ANY plant and cause it to grow like crazy" -- would be awesome).

I would vent that reflector if you can. can't tell by the pic but is that a vent hole on the right?

What ppm are your nutes? What light schedule?

Turning the light on and off all day is not a good idea, you want to run it either 18on 6 off, or 24 on while in veg. Light cycles determine how the plant will grow, if it is stressed by irregular or extremely unnatural patterns it will respond badly and most likely die or hermie.

84 is high but it isn't that bad

Keep in mind I am not familair with Aerogardens, so it is also possible there might be an issue there I wouldn't think to ask. I think I saw an aerogarden thread somewhere.

Temp is staying a consistent 82 degrees F now with the lights raised about 30 inches about the canopy. PH is a solid 6.0. I rinsed out and replaced the reservoir.

I dissolved 1/2 tab of the large nute tablets that came with the Aerogarden and threw in 1/4 tsp of Superthrive. I'm going to run the lights on an 18 on/6 off light schedule for a week and see how that goes.

Humidifier in the back is keeping the humidity around 30%-40%. Otherwise, normal humidity is at 20%.

Some of the roots are really long. Do I need to snip them to encourage the other roots, on the same plant, to stretch out and hit the water?

Running the Aerogarden in 'Salad Green' mode which runs the water pump constantly.

dont touch the roots i think you would be better off with 4 5gallon buckets that res is small and you could run out of room

5 gallon bucket aeroponic setup is next on the list. I want to get a little more growth of these guys and then I'll transplant them into a different environment.

I don't want to go DWC because it's so damn wasteful of water with the weekly reservoir changes.

Roots are starting to come on strong again..it's been 2-3 days since transplant.... I couldn't believe the results i was getting inside of aerogarden 200 rez. I had to pull them apart very nicely and then the hardest part was removing the sponge.....!
