Moving to Sonoma CA soon. Have a few Questions.

Hi RIU folks. I am a medical patient in a non medical state. That medicates for chronic back pain & LEGITIMATE Insomnia. I am getting ready to move to california so that I may be able to medicate in relative peace without too much worry.

Is it totally unreasonable to try to grow for any kind of income in california? Or is it worth a shot? I already have a job waiting for me when I get there, but it will be a pretty low paying one. I don't have many options as far as employment due to my back injuries. All of my work experience is hard manual labor & I can't do those types of jobs anymore. I am however pretty crafty with the green thumbs I posess. If I can't make a living growing then what would be the best avenue to take to get into the "green" industry? I am not one of those guys that thinks I'm gonna come to california & become some Pot Lord or anything. I am simply trying to supplement my income & take care of my family. I look forward to any "Constructive" criticism or advice & give many thanks in advance.

dude prices are garbage here. All of these northbay assholes growing 100+ outdoor gardens are flooding the market. finding a decent paying job is half the battle in northbay. Secure work before you move.

Thanks for the info Clown Baby. I do have a job lined up in clovedale where I am going to land. I will be staying with a relative for awhile until I build up some funds. I know CA is in bad shape jobs wise but would there be a better place anywhere near there within 2 hours maybe that would be more economically friendly? Do you know if the Casinos around there pay card dealers decently?

I've got a friend in Clayton, and another in Walnut creek that grow, have cards, and quite a few plants, but nobody out there in Sonoma, or did you mean Sonoma County?
IDK if the Casino is still there in Richmond, but they used to pay pretty good, but their drug screen is a big hunk of hair, so if you're particular about your hair, be forewarned.
They won't even follow you to a barber, you have to let them do it there.

If you're up in Sonoma County, you could always try Cache Creek.
Last time I was there, it was a pretty well to do place, they finally got the parking done, and more construction going on.
It should be about 45 minutes from you, since I could make it in an hour from the other side of the bridge.
