I have a plant at my buddies house. It is in its 3rd week of veg with one 15 watt fluorescent light. I need to transport this plant to my house . It is about a 15 minute drive, and can get as cold as -15. Will i be able to do this without harming the plant?

yes you can. either just keep it on your lap, in daytime, or just keep it a box in your car boot. it will be ok for 15 30 mins even in darkness. if you have to.
just dont move during the 12/12 pro.
have you got more lites for when the plant gets bigger.
also what lite cycle you on. 18/6 or 24/0?

Shouldn't be a problem, just dont let it freeze. Plants are meant for the outdoors, and can fully compensate for changes like that, that could happen naturally in nature... even if you left it without lights for 15 minutes, no problem, in nature clouds come and go, and shade. As for how cold it gets, the plant shouldn't drop from room temperature to anywhere near freezing point in that period of time during the drive.

but you need more lights.

thanks. Yeah lighting seems to be a problem. I only have this 150 watt light. Not a lot of money to go around. Is there any cheap solutions or places i can buy simple practical lights? It has been vegging for 3 weeks under this light and is doing fairly well, besides the fact its not as big as it could be. Is it possible to veg it for another 4 weeks with a better light and receive a significant increase in size? any suggestions help.

I was thinking of getting one of those plus staying with the 150 watt fluro. Should use both of them for veg and flower? I also cant find any 50 Watt HPs on the homedepot website.

heated vehicle. Is a 500 watt halogen light a good amount of light for one plant through veg phase and flowering?

yeah it should be safe to transport it than. Is it a flood light or something? Im lead to believe those lights are not proper lights for growing they will just cook your plants.:joint::peace::peace::peace:

What type of light are you using, a 150 watt, or 15 watt fluorescent? If you are using a 150 watt fluorescent setup, you wouldnt want to downgrade to the 50w HPS floodlight you'll have to keep the light too far away because of the heat it puts off. At the distance you'd have to keep it to prevent burning your plants you wont be delivering any lumens to the plant, which along with the extra heat will make your plant start to stretch. The beautiful thing about fluorescents is you can keep them to where they're almost touching the plant, they put off no heat, I would keep your fluorescent as close to your plant as you possibly can, enclose the grow area to trap all the lumens, and veg for another few weeks and save up for a 400w HPS, without it you wont get the results you are looking for.

I also have to be discreet. I feel ike a HPS light will take up alot of room and make it onvious to see . I need a small light that is powerful to take the plant through flowering. Would it be worth it to get another one or two 150 watt fluros? Just because space and how obvious it is is a factor.

tell me what your working with, i bet i can come up with the best possible solution... i.e. grow space l x w x d, air filtration, planting mix/ferts, its all a variable.

its a 2x3 ft space. jst a fan for ventilation. For nutes i am using a urine water solution with a ratio of 1:20 urine to water. Regular potting soil. I haven't started with nutrients yet i will start once the plant is at my place. Very basic setup. What do you think?
