mother nature overwatering my plants??

I set up my grow site really close to a small stream on a side of a hill. When i started digging into the ground i noticed the soil was very wet(not muddy) just wet. Then i started to think that you can over water plants pretty easy. So i was wondering if it will be possible for the stream to produce too much water to my plants.

well that stream could flood so id keep it a bit further from it. you could make an irrigation systems a couple feet away, always wanted to do that but i never lived close to any body of water.

I dont have to worry about it flooding its very small but im worried that it will still supply to much water to it if thats even possible. Some people said it was good to be by a stream but idk.

it is good but they dont need to be right next to it, your roots will reach an underground water system by being that close so the minerals are great for it, no need to plant her in the moist soil. id say 5 ft away from the stream is fine, roots spread faster than you think.
