more than one harvest from a plant

A few years ago I put my plants back into 18/6 to re-veg. After a time (can't remember how long) put back on 12/12 for another flowering.
They were in 5 gal buckets, so had some root room.
Has anyone else done this? It definitely worked, and did't make the plant do weird things at all. I can't speak to the diminishing returns on the yeild, but it seemed to save time compared to starting from small cuttings again - like when you just have one room. I ended up with some pretty massive plant bases (1" + diameter or so)

I re-grow a lot of my best-producing plants. When you harvest the first time you want to leave a double-handful of greenery down at the base of the plant. Leave the little buds and small leaves. Cut the main stem down so the plant is half the pre-harvest height. Re-veg after harvest for 3-4 weeks. Re-grows will be much bushier than the original harvest as each bud taken will re-grow 2 bud sites. So yields are usually 125-175% increased second time around. Also, if a plant takes 6 weeks to flower first time will likely finish a week earlier second time around. And yes, it is possible to re-re-grow plants, but I don't advise it. By that point you are harvesting a ton of small buds that take forever to harvest. Good luck, BigSteve.

Thank for the info! The first time was totally intuitive, didn't even know if it was ever done. I'm surprised I haven't seen a whole thread about the technique.
