Moldy Seeds and Hydrogen Peroxide?

I've tried to germinate seeds in a damp paper towel, moist soil with and without plastic wrap covering the pot, and soaking them in water until the roots sprout.

In each of these methods I've had problems with mold appearing on the seeds and so far out of all the seeds I've tried to sprout only about 1/4 of them have actually have grown into a plant. I use bag seeds and I know that bag seeds aren't the best seeds to grow.

I was wondering if I put the seeds in hydrogen peroxide for a few mins before I put them in water if that would help keep the mold away until they have sprouted or would hydrogen peroxide hurt the seeds?

how long is it taking for the mold to appear? the seeds may already be spent before you even start... longest germ time i have had is a week on bag seed....

sorry, i cant answer your question, i have never tried anything but water on my seeds.

The Mold on the seeds means there viability time has passed.

I germed about 300 seeds the other day, of 300, 258 made it, the other 42 molded.

It means quite simply that the seeds "embryo" has gone bad.
