Mold in home! Anyone everyone please!

QUESTION! Has anyone dealt with any mold issues in their home (not plant mold, but mold on walls outside the grow room) from growing a small number of plants (6 or so)? And would this mold grow out of control during your first grow? Or does this sound more like a structural (poor ventilation/roof installation and poor insulation in key areas, such as above windows) situation?

Landlords are trying to blame me for the insane mold problem that is in mine and my children's room. Even though the people contracted by them reported that this was due to no negligence on my part. But rather it was the result of poor ventilation/roof installation and poor insulation in key areas, such as above windows. I only am growing 6 plants hydroponically (first grow. 5 weeks flowering), and not even in the room that the mold is present. My plants have no mold on them and there is no mold near the closet they are in. I have a dehumidifier, the bathroom vents, and windows open constantly. We monitor temps and humidity. Which humidity was usually in the 30% range. The roofs are leaking next to the windows, and that it where the mold is located. The mold is sooo bad that it has molded things not even near the walls that are infested. My books, dressers, shelves, clothes, belts, ect. are covered.

We wont even address the neglect of not disclosing the possible asbestos containing ceiling. (after tampering with it it has been confirmed to contain asbestos)

I am desperate for some answers. Any answers/advice!! Takin this to court.

The mold is caused by the leaky roof!! Mold is very unhealthy to breath... you should get your landlord to do something about it quickly!!

EDIT: you should move!!

I am taking them to court because to top off the negligence of the mold the ceiling contains asbestos and neglected to inform us. BEfore doing maintenance and before our move in. :( Past occupants in this unit said they will write a statement about the out of control mold they dealt with. Which is when the landlord removed the insulation and did not replace it!

I would move while taking him to court. My cousin had something like this happen with black mold. They moved him to another unit, only find out there was black mold already in that one. He since moved out and is suing them for endangering his children and himself.

if it is black mold the spores attack the lungs, can cause serious ilness and bleeding from the lungs, and also cause death too.
how the fuck your landlord can blame you is beyond me.

if the ceiling is blue asbestos and has been tampered with, he is fucked, you are fucked, you are all fucked.
if it is white/grey asbestos the consequences are not as serious.

You answered your own question. It's not because of your plants. Move out of there. mold and asbestos... they should be paying YOU to live there.

As far as trying to find out what kind of asbestos it is...:
DONT DO THAT YOURSELF DUDE. Hire a professional to figure it out, and use his report if you go to court. Definitely get your deposit back.

Fuck them, move out and get your landlord to pay for your relocating costs.
If he alllready knew about this and let you move in, you have him by the balls.
He put you and your family in harms way.
what if you or someone in your family developes lung problems later?
Protect yourself!!!

Good Luck
