Mocking or Mimicking Mother Nature?...suggestive thoughts for a newbie

Earlier today I semi-jacked a guys thread to ask a question. The question was rhetorical more of a comment really. But it started me thinking (a pretty dangerous thing to do). So I thought I would post my own thread to see if it is just me or do others feel pure cannabis cultivation is being over-complicated?

I see A LOT of newbie growers on this and other cannabis web sites that use all kinds of different methodologies, different technologies, over complicated formulae, charts, graphs, toys, and gadgets...A LOT of toys and gadgets.

So, my question is what happened to putting a good seed into some good soil, providing good light, natural conditions, good nutes etcetera?

I am speaking to the newbie and indoor growers now. Cannabis cultivation and propagation has been happening on this planet for a very long time. People may say "Well this ain't your grandpa's pot"...I beg to differ. Some of the best and most psychoactive cannabis has been grown by and in nature for many thousands of years. I see many newbies that believe the only way to grow is by growing hydro, or DWC, using other inert mediums, ppm meters, ec meters, LED lighting and much more. Then if and when it fails for them they are left wondering why they spent so much $ and got such shitty results.

Don't misunderstand. I am not saying the other techiques will not work and work well. Or that some of the gadgets etcetera are not useful tools in some grows. However, they may not be the best way to go when all you have grown before is hair.

So, IN MY VERY HUMBLE OPINION...(I capitalized because I don't want the trolls to pick up the scent of a question or statement they can feed on LOL!) a new grower would be much better to mimic nature as closely as possible. At least until they understand a little of the botany and life cycles of cannabis.

Personally, I started growing using the K.I.S.S. theory of growing many moons ago and still do. My grows are successful and have always been. And, so have many many others, by just letting a plant do what it does naturally.

Just Sayin'

Good Luck and Great Growing.
