LED: Mixjoy 4000
Soil: Sunshine Mix #4 with aggregate
Ferts: Biogrow and Happy Frog Cavern Mix
Humidity: 35% to 45%
Seeds: 2 x Blue Cookie fem from Michigan 420 seeds
1 x Freakshow reg seeds from Dem Native Brothers (not aure if this is the breeder or repackaged seeds from a breeder)
The seedlings were supercropped at 12" high resulting in much side branch growth. The side branches and main top were continually bent down as they grew and side branches supercropped as well. I eventually tied down the top with wire so that the side branches were higher than the top, redirecting the auxin of the growing top to the new highest top, a side branch. Each time the main top grew higher than the side branch tops, it was bent down and tucked behind a fan leaf ,holding it in place.
I threw the plants into a 14/10 bloom the last week of May then dropped the light hours to 12/12 June 1st.
Notes:
Freakshow: This variation of Freakshow is a very slow growing compact plant and not easy to stress train the branches as they were so compact yet doable to an extent. When moved to flowering immediately the branches and top began stretching, perhaps it's sativa lineage. There is a pronounced flush of pistils and few "bud" leaves at this point.
Blue Cookies: I can only say that it is a growing machine and quite robust. It accommodates supercropping and LST well and likely would grow tall if it is not trained. Outdoors I suspect this strain would make for a hellacious big plant.
LED: The Mixjoy 4000 pumps out considerable light of broad spectrum. The heat generated is less than a HPS or similar yet still generates a bit of heat.
Comments or suggestions welcome.
