Mixing blood meal with water

First time grower here, trying a hybrid called Ice cream. Everything has been fine until now, I was planning on cutting the light to promote flowering until I noticed my bottom leaves are turning yellow, and some even fell right off. I learned its most likely a nitrogen deficiency so i bought some blood meal. Says 1/2 Tbsp per plant, so i mixed 1/2 tbsp of blood meal into a cup of water for each plant and watered with it. Wondering if this will help or if I need to make a tea instead (which I heard works great). If anyone can help out I appreciate it a ton!:weed:

Maybe someone else will help with the meal thing.. I've not used it.... but I myself always use 1/4 to 1/2 strength of any nute/additive label and wait to see if any detrimental effect.......

The yellowing of the bottom leaves is normal..... as long as its not a rapid yellowing that moves up its normal for bottom leaves to die as the new growth comes in.. more so into flowering and flush where the whole plant may have yellowing leaves..... Luck.
