miracle(freakin) gro perlite

Hey all, jus a quick ques. The ole lady picked up some perlite for me and i opened it before i noticed it is mg and is (enriced) with plant food. How can i go about gettin rid of the chem in it? How long can i soak it it or rinse it or whatever so i can stay organic? Or can i?

Well, first thing you gotta do is go smack the ole lady around--jk . If it was just a couple dollars I'd just save it for other uses. Why mess around?

Get a strainer and wash the shit out of it.

Inorganic fertilizers tend to wash right off, or out of plants mediums. Where as when you grow in true living organics the bacteria and fungi secrete a slime to stick themselves to soil particles. making it much harder if not impossible to leach off. With that out of the way you should be able to wash it off. Try to soak the perlite in a warm water organic soap mix. Since perlite floats mix well, rinse repeat!

Just throw it away and buy something else. Anything with the MG name on it has their nutes in it.
