Just looking to hear what other people grow in MN its a short growing season so I ususaly use 6 - 7 week indoor flowering plants to success from southern MN all the way up just south of duluth! gonna try some white russian and blue dynomite this year!

Oh yeah go vikes! I try to stay away from farm fields but thanks for the info! Im still wondering what other strains other people use? I have also used mikado and bubble funk!

Hey dude! I'm in a similar climate as you. I'm planning an AK-47 outdoor grow this year. Did you get your White Russian from Serious Seeds? If so, we have similar genetics! Serious bred the AK with something else to make white russian. I have three mom's I'm cloning and testing indoor this winter and plan to start my outdoor cuttings in another month. This will give them a good jump on vegging before it is warm enough to put them in the ground outdoor. Good luck this year!

I used to live in grand forks, ND on the border with minnesota. Real shitty place. They grow hemp in manitoba I think. First frost hits around mid sept if I remember right or could be beginning of oct. There are several strains suited for that climate.

if I lived in Minnesota I wouldn't even bother growing outside, id be indoors indoor indoors, at least the lake warms up my air. still a short season here too. but hey if you start your sprouts in march you could get a real early harvest in before it freezes again lol

Yup got the seeds from serious white russian is ak47 and white widow with a 7 week flower really nice plant. And my other strain blue dynomite is a blueberry afgani and dynamite cross and flowers 6 week indoors. I will probably be starting cuttings about the same! Good luck as well!

well I start putting them out usually around the begining of may and as far as when to make them that depends on how big of plants you wanna carry around to your spot ('s) the bigger the plant the more success I have had! Oh and dont forget to weather your plants to the outdoor before you put them in the ground I use rubermade containers out on the deck with the plants in the bottom if it gets cold bring em in.

Minnesota Grown! I gotta get some of those stickers!

I read an article about Reeferman, who grows sativas in canada in the summer. He flowers his plants indoors for 1 month then puts them outside to finish, he says that it doesn't matter what the light is after that month of flowering they will continue to flower. I have not done this but he grows 12-14 weekers outside and they are in full bloom in june or july and they finish before the frost. Just something to try I guess

Wow that sounds like a good idea guess im gona need some new seeds for next year!

Never thought about doing this, but may give it a try. I noticed last summer some of the plants i put out went into bloom in july, well before the sunlight cycle was close to being 12/12. Do you think he leaves them in pots when he transfers them outdoor or puts them in the ground? Just wondering if that transplant would set em back some?

A friend of mine does really well with Serious' Chronic grown outdoor in Wisconsin. It yields like big bud and has way better looking nugs. You may be ok with the white russian, says it takes 56-63 days to flower. I guess it would depend on when they trigger to start blooming, and the hopes that there is at least 60 good days before the first fall frost.

I had 2 of those white russians outside last year and they seemed fine they were both done like mid september! The only true way to learn is to experiment! :bigjoint:

The chronic would be an excellent outdoor strain that I might have to try myself in the future! :bigjoint:
