MH or T5 for vegging out...

Howdy,


I'm just wondering if anyone has an opinion on whether it is better to veg under t5s (or some other decent flouro) or if I am better off picking up a 400w mh. I'm thinking of flowering under a 1000w hps atm.

T5's can do the whole thing for you (veg and flower) if you get a good enough system. MH doesn't spread light as well as the T5's do.

Metal Halide is the status quo for vegging as it takes one bulb to equate 8 T5s. But like TheSky said, T5s are more efficent, just less lumens. It's a tuff choice. Main thing to consider is how big is your area? If you have plenty of space for heat to dissipate then go for the MH, if it is pretty small (My 4'x3'x2' box gets 86 with 2 T5s) then you should use T5s. Think about it, do some research, and let us know what you decided.:peace:
