MH Bulb broke during VEG! Switching to HPS, is this ok?

So I had to unplug the light for a second because I was moving furniture and plugged it back in and it blew up. Like went super bright and died. So I have 2 extra HPS bulbs, I of course immediately put the HPS bulb in, they're still practically 1 week old seedlings, I don't think it'll affect it too much will it? Is a HPS bulb ok to veg with? Also, does anyone know where the cheapest light bulbs are? (website?) Thanks

Well it is probally an hps ballest right? Or is it switchable? If it's switchable menards has hallide bulbs. Otherwise I would say www.plantlightinghydrophonics.com is the shizznit!

Oh and an hps is okay to veg with just may get streching some people use hps the whole grow from what I've read. I used my hps for two weeks till I ordered my Phillips agro hps

Yeah its switchable. Will stretching affect yield or quality?

Look up "uncle ben's topping technique" It's a matter of opinion good luck

you can run hps durring veg if you want. you willbe ok till you get your new bulb. but HPS bulb willnot work in a MH ballast if thats what your asking. MH bulb will work in a HPS ballast.

An utterly ridiculous assertion. I don't know know what you've been reading.

Stretching occurs as a result of inadequate light. Assuming the wattage of either bulb is appropriate for the number of plants, stretching should not be an issue.

An HPS can be used for both stages of growth. However, MH is optimal for vegetative phase while HPS is optimal for flowering phase.

Just keep using the HPS bulb, it will veg those plant just as well as the MH. Its hard to actually see a significant advantage when using MH bulbs in veg stage. I think its just ppls preference.
