metal halide lamp set up need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

okay so i decided to grow indoors so i started by buying a metal halide bulb online pic below

the i went n bougth a reflector and a socket for the bulb
Snapshot_20120711_2.JPG having a little knowledge i knew i would need a ballast so i went n bougth the cheapest one i could findSnapshot_20120711.JPG problem is i feel like im missing some thing to hook the ballast with the reflector do yall think i may of bougth the wrong one even though it said it was a 250w ballast? btw my bulb is also 250w. would be greatful for some advise

Yeah, looks like your missing the cord. Not gonna work without that piece. Good for you they're easy to replace. Google is your friend.

In this day and age, buying the cheapest you can find is a recipe for disaster. Just FYI.

It's pretty much cheaper to get the whole thing as a set,
it's also safer, and you can sometimes get a warranty.
Just sayin,
a 250w ballast/hood/bulb all together can be found for under 100 bucks.

What puck said, complete sets are cheap.

I got 2, 600W and 1, 400W MH/HPS entry level combo's off ebay for $625 delivered to my door.


Got an electrician friend? Good luck with your set up.
