Messing about.

Will putting the lights on a minute later every turn on speed up the flowering process or do anything beneficial whatsoever? I'm just thinking that it might make the plants believe that winter is coming on quicker, making them grow faster, or bigger buds.

Sure, or 13, or 14 or 15! You want to give them the most hours of light that you can while still keeping them in flowering. Each strain has its own personal critical time that will cause it to flower. What we have found is that 12 hours of darkness will certainly ensure all strains will flower.

If your strain will flower consistently on 11 hours of dark, then go for it.

Aren't most strains typically 11 hour, dark=flowering, plants? Of course I'd need to ask in the grow shop as I'm growing a fairly new strain. Thanks for the enlightenment Pot'.

i think i fucked up,do you think this will affect my yeild ,as i start to flower i turn the lights down over a period of time rather than direct,12/12,i kind of work my way there,for no real reason other than to see how it went.
last time it worked o.k,although i dont know that it helped either?.
but i have just noticed i have gone below the 12 hours,and on just over11,it is about four or so weeks into flowering,and buds are filling out etc,is it best just to leave it,it looks fucking happy,and the yeild is not a big deal,as it is only for myself and friends.
i have more ready to go more or less,so i just wondered is it that big a deal,as i checked for hermies etc,and no sign,which was one of my concerns,anyway done it now ,so i will let you know how it turns out,i know i will get enough just by looking at it,but wondered about negatives,other than less yeild,i will know to put my fucking glasses on next time,i hit fifty this year,i am losing my sight,alredy lost my mind,but that is another storie.
i keep doing this,i am not really concerned,but any thoughts on the subject from you guys who know a lot more than i ,will be taken note of.
