mercury vapor setup

I have a 175w MV setup does anyone know if it would grow some quality bud?

after looking at some info i say it'd depend on the type of bulb u run in it, but it won't have the color spectrum range like a MH would and depending on the bulb used might not have much effect at all.

Put a 175w metal halide bulb in it and you're good to go. MH and MV are the same ballast spec, no ignitor.

Well the ballast had said MV only was why I wasn't sure

be REAL certain before changing a bulb meant for that...
If I recall correctly the mercury vapor is the most efficient at creating light BUT is in the wrong spectrum (far red if I remember correctly)
It's similar to growing with a quarts halogen bulb, bright as hell but not the right spectrum.
also depends on if its the high pressure or low pressure one, it does have a lot of UV though, not sure if it's the correct typs of UV to increase thc though, probably wouldn't matter anyways
