First off...virtual tokes to everyone... :O),
I am trying to figure out how to run 4000watt hps lights on 1 main heavy gage cable with 4 240v receptacles from ballast and can't get all the lights to stay on at the same time.
From sub panel I have a 40amp to a GE heavy duty timer connected to 4 magnetic switchable ballast. I have power to all the ballast at 240v from the timer..all good. The problem i have is from the ballast lamp cords to the main cable that supplies all 4 hoods in the room. I connected and matched the wires and only one light will stay on a time. First light comes on, then goes off, second light goes on, then goes off ect. It seems like even though all 4 ballast are running only one ballast is trying to fire the lights? Do I need a 30amp relay between the 4 ballast and the hoods to keep all 4 lights on? I placed some pics below and any advise is much appreciated. My girls are begging for 12 12
