Maybe I'm fussing, are these tiny spots any concern on an outdoor plant?

I haven't grown outdoors before, so I just want to be sure. Hopefully, it's not a cause for concern and if it is I'd like to be fast in fixing whatever the issue is.

I looked through https://www.growweedeasy.com/cannabis-symptoms-pictures

and the only one that seems to match is "Thrip damage" - You know, thunder flies. We have loads of those in the air where I live, so perhaps that's it? Open to other ideas.

Thanks!

I looked but I don't know. I grow outside but in the ground but just looking at them it looks like an infestation of some kind. I protect mine with DE. Mix 4 tablespoons of DE to 1 gallon of water and give a light spraying. You will know if you use too much because of a white accumulation on the leafs (don't mistake it for white powdery mildew). It washes off with water it you get too much. If that doesn't take care of your problem it will at least keep other small bugs off.

I got neem oil or dishwashing soap, might use one of those two options. Hope someone can tell us exactly what it is though. Do you think it could be some kind of deficiency? Or does it 100% look like a bug issue?

I'm not a fan of neem oil. The soapy water for aphids. When it comes to potted plants I have no idea about nutes, but that looks like an infestation to me. If it was one of my in the ground plants I'd be treating the soil as well as the plant for bugs.

I see DE recommended a lot online, I guess I gotta go get myself some. It seems all the DE powder I can get my hands on are like a food supplement, with nettles and other stuff added, I mean, that probably won't matter.

Bugs most likely. Not deficiency.

Gotcha, thanks for the input!

Try a pool supply store. DE is used in pool filters.

Thanks! I see a local store telling me that there's a big difference between DE though. That the particle size and purity matter a lot when it comes to its effectiveness against insects, but they sell some specifically for insects at 1kg/2lb bucket for 30$ so that should do the trick.

Have you used the pool filter DE against insects with success? Perhaps this site is just selling their product, you know.

It's also used as a supplement to feed horses, it seems.

I have used it before with success, but just because I have a pool and a bunch here already, it may not be optimal so if your hydro store or local grow center has it go there first. In a pinch the pool stuff will work.
