Man, 82, Shoots Guy For Snooping Around His Marijuana Patch

Dude, in Kentucky you don't mess with anyone's moonshine or marijuana. A 82-year-old Kentucky man has been arrested for shooting a guy for snooping around in his pot patch Thursday night.

Raymond Anthony Faehr Sr., 82, of Pulaski County, shot an unidentified man he allegedly found in his cannabis garden. He told law enforcement he didn't want the guy to steal his plants, reports Tricia Neal at the Somerset Commonwealth Journal.

The intruder, who was blasted with a shotgun, being struck in the arm, abdomen and thigh, was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for treatment of his gunshot wounds. His condition is not known.

The Pulaski County Sheriff's Department did not reveal the identify of the gunshot victim in a statement on the incident, and Sheriff Todd Wood did not return a call seeking further comment.

​The Sheriff's Department responded to a report of a shooting on Mark Street about 11:30 p.m. on Thursday. When deputies got to the house, they found old man Faehr still clutching the shotgun he had used to shoot the intruder, a feudin' look in his eyes.

The old man had apparently gone outside his house to take care of the marijuana patch when he discovered a stranger amongst his plants and blasted the fucker to stop him from stealing the weed.

Deputies said Faehr had 19 cannabis plants growing behind his house.

The octogenarian was arrested and charged with first degree assault and cultivating marijuana. Apparently this wasn't the first time the old dude been caught growing pot, according to authorities.

Faehr was thrown into the Pulaski County Detention Center without bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 31.

ummm.. I don't think he's dead. The news reports state that he was airlifted to a hospital and his condition is "unknown" but so far nothing about him dying.

I would put bear traps and random obstacles in my patch. But shooting him is a little harsh.

Oh and then I would tar and feather them so I can kick there chicken shit ass. Hmm seems cruel and unusual but fuck it your in my mj patch.

The title of the thread makes me laugh then I read the story and start feeling bad for the guy that got shot, so to counter act the sadness is read the title, ha.

Edit: The police seem to think it's ok to shoot someone over a plant.

yep don't do that... I sleep out with a gun too.... and at minimum someone would get their ears ringing...

but I personally wouldn't shoot someone snooping around my weeds unless they had a gun/weapon too... then they better just get the fuck out as soon as they hear the warning shot.

Nothing like a warning shot to give away your position. Probably think you are shooting at him and fire back at you. Not a warning shot.

nothing like shooting a guy first before seeing if he has a gun and spending most of your life in prison.


I think I'd rather risk getting shot to make sure the fool has a gun, rather then shoot him pre-emptively and end up getting raped in prison, no thanks.
