Male plant?`

is it ok to have 12/12 too see if there are males. will it turn my little guys male too?

Not enough information for a detailed answer. Yes. a 12/12 cycle would prompt your plants to show sex within the next 10 days or so. Males usually show first, often as far as two weeks before the females show sex.
