Ya. I think it is a male but a few more days will tell the tale for 100%.

I see nothing that tells me anything definitively.

Would I be looking for hair to come out of those pods?

Yes 2 white hairs.

Males at that stage tend to be real small pods. Use a magnifying glass and get a closer look. Usually the pistils show out of the calyx soon after the calyx is formed and the calyx itself will be pointed on the end before the pistils show. In image G0253 I would say that is a female. Here is a good pic of a female flower.

I am leaning towards female. Very first pic makes me think its so. Good luck OP!
