Making one 5 footer to two 2 1/2 footers

I have a five foot tall plant and I was wanting to take a big clone. So i wanna chop it in half. Is there any problems with this idea? I never taken a clone this big is why Im asking.

not a good idea to chop that much 1/3 of total plant is max I think. I think half would stress the plant to much.

its not goin to work man. do you have tons of side shoots?

Yea I have a pretty good amount of side shoots. Basically I just wanted one more big plant to put outside. But oh well I can wait the few extra weeks

now you will have tons of plants,cut your main plant in half,take clones from the top half,and put the bottom half outdoors,it will grow into one huge bush

Thanks for the suggestion. The problem is(which I shouldve said in the first post)is that this is one of my hydro girls. Shes in DWC and has a pretty big root system on her. so her roots are all tangled through the 6" net. I was thinking of taking the whole plant and burying the net and all. But at the same time Im worried about the amount of shock the plant would go through considering its spent its whole life babied and then put in some dirt. If it was younger Id feel alot better about doing this. Any luck with doing something like that with older plants?
