I've got some packs in cart and I'm a bit apprehensive on ordering with the single digit temps in the US at the moment.
What do yall think?

Oh yeah I can definitely agree with that. I was moreless concerned with the deep freeze. But I suppose you are right. And on the flip side of that coin, mother nature has a natural selection, the better specimens prevail. But a 50% loss in strike rate ain't cool. I've got about 150 beans total in cart.Seeds sit outside on the ground all winter then sprout in the spring, so I would imagine it’s better than any other season. I would be much more worried about shipping during a hot spell.
I keep all mine in a mini fridge inside vaccutainer vials with a couple grains of rice, then the self healing cap is dipped in soy wax to seal. wife is a nurse..bonusYep, cold is better generally for seed storage. When you get them, it's a good idea to let them sit in the shipping box or envelope for a couple hours to slowly acclimate to avoid moisture from sudden temp changes.
That's exactly the optimistic view point I'm having. If they germ after a single digit stratification, they've got the better genetics.Back in my outdoor days we'd always let our seed patches go until the very end and would sometimes get what we called survivors the next spring . They often turned out to be our best plants . I'd worry more about extreme summer heat than winter cold .
I think the packaging they're shipped in also helps to insulate to some degree. Usps flat rate is a little box. I feel better with that over a envelope.I've been worried too. I have some C99 coming from The Real Seed Co. and I don't want the seeds to freeze.
Completely understand your anxiety. I remember when mine was in transit. I must have refreshed my tracking info every 30 min.We have a big ice storm coming tonight they say, don't care about the seeds much, they aren't even on the slate until years from now. But I do care about my Dabpress 4 which is supposed to come tomorrow. I need an effing dab some kinda badly.
Don't sweat it dude they be fine if not Angus will sort it you won't find a more honest dude in this biz that wayI've been worried too. I have some C99 coming from The Real Seed Co. and I don't want the seeds to freeze.
That's what I wanted hear! Now I'm rethinking my long term storage.I go right from the mailbox to freezer in winter and im in NY. I sprout 10+ year old seeds that have been frozen the whole time. Just don't freeze/thaw more than 1x.
