M59 Ballast

Hey, bought a cheap HL ballast, now I'm looking to grow SOG so fuck I need HPS bulbs. I'm trying to get a cheap HPS ballast, but if this doesn't happen I will have to resort to conversion bulb. I was looking at an add for a HPS conversion and it said it only works with "a M59 Ballast." What is this and how to I know if my ballast is M59?

EDIT: Can I run a 360 watt bulb on my 400 watt ballast or will the world implode?

not sure what any of that first stuff is man. couldent understand what you were talking about but you can run a smaller bulb in the same type of lamp that is supposed to run it.
hps will run mh but mh ballast will not run hps. odd huh?
its because of the parts involved in their makeup

break it down simple for me.....what is your problem....?
you have a 400watt mh or hps ballast?
your wanting it to do what?
ill have u growing here in a min if ur online...... lol

I got it figured out I think. I bought a HPS conversion bulb (goes in MH outputs HPS light). So now I have 1 ballast with MH waiting till I get clones, then when they root Ill switch to HPS. Also Ill take a mom out and put under CFL.

M59, I've learned, is just the standard protocol for most ballast.

ansi Ballast m59 will run hps or mh 400w Im doing it right now with one of each bulbs going in 2 diff tents. sweet 10 plants budding now cant wait.
