lumie health light

hey. i no this may sound like a daft question but my mams got one of these lamps and i was wondering if it would work for my plant. it seems bright and gives off 10,000 lux wotever that means. take a look http://www.lumie.com/shop/products/desklamp

yeah its a cfl by the looks of it .. it would work for veg... or it could be one of the bulbs.. depending on how many you grow

i was only going to grow one plant as an experiment. would this be enough alone or would i need more? also what does lux mean and how many lux' do u need per plant? thanks

you will need another cfl like a 42 watt if you just want one plant.. and it should be too big with only 100 watts so to say on it . maybe only 8 inches when swithced into 12/12.. but im not sure what lux is . i know you need 3000 lumens min. per Sq foot. you want the whitish color one for veg and when you go to 12/12 you want the warm color one ( more red color spectrum )
