LST with AK-48 strain?

I'm about to grow my first plant (AK-48 strain from nirvana) and want to try out LST. I know it's recommended for advanced growers, but the instructions seem to be pretty simple, so I can't imagine it being all that difficult. Is AK-48 a good strain to do it with? I've read that not every type of cannabis responds well to certain types of growing techniques. Does anybody have any information/experience with the AK-48 strain? Should I try to supercrop/FIM/top the plant instead?

most plants can cope with lots of different training.

LST is one that i think any indoor grown MJ will respond well too. It is also one of the least stressfull.

AK-48 is VERY forgiving. It's very robust and you won't have a problem. It's now my favorite because it can bounce back after minor abuse and it really delivers on a sativa high, along with the fact that it finishes so soon.

only you will know the stress level of your baby and that can only be done by pushing it and see how it reacts. Just do a few things at a time. As far as topping you have a limited window of opportunity to do that other wise you will not see the benefits of your labor.

I wouldn't bother.
I'd just top it down to the 2nd true node when it forms the 4th, top down from the 3rd to the 2nd node of the new growth and again top down from the 3rd node to the 2nd node from the new growth.
It will give you quite a bush.

Another way of getting you plant very bushy is starting with a flowering clone. If you take clones after the buds started to form (week 4 or so) it will take a few weeks to recover but when it starts to reveg it will be branchy as fuck.


I use a SCROG for most things, much less work in my prespective.

I just realized my clones from flowered plants looked way better and always surpases my clones that I took from another plant up 2 weeks earlier maybe even three

I've heard nice things about AK-48 so if i were you i would definitely top and get the extra bud where possible heh Also heard it can get pretty stinky! though my LSD is starting to wreak and its only on week 1 of flowering :)

and for all the NOOBS Lst'n is just like topping with out cutting ur plant..u dont need to cut ur plant to make it grow more bud and not all plants respond well to topping but all plants respond well to LST'n

cali, would you suggest LSTing for vertical light setups? My flower room is tight and does not allow for much growing width wise.

they are only in their first week of flower so i expect them to get much larger which is a bit scary because they're already starting to touch the light and walls :(

I don't know what you've been smoking, but its really isn't.
With LST you promote branches to grow higher and space your branches away from each other.
With topping you create 2 tops. Its really not the same result.

And there are a lot of strains that don't respond well to LST, they just have very weak branching and form one big cola.


Slurpy, For vertical SCROG is the best way to go.

no i'd suggest making a vertical scrog..seen it done before and it was SICK..youtube "vertical scrog" and get some ideas on how to set it up..good luck

i smoke weed bro and thats it..and its always the best so dont hate..anyways LST'n u can create as many heads as u want..right now i got 8 heads and 2 are almost the size of the main 8..thats 10 colas brotha without cutting my girl at all..and name some strains that dont respond well to LST?? every single plant i LST'd responded great but when i top they DEFINITELY dont

and i was saying LST'n is like topping without cutting it because when u LST and when u top there both different ways to get more bud production and since i've been growing i noticed the plants i top sometimes take a while to respond and they grow slow and end result is actually smaller buds but more bud spots then if i weren't to top..when i LST i get more bud spots and way bigger buds..i speak from my experience's and i've been growing for a while now and i've grown up to 20plants at once so i've learned alot..LST and scrog is the way to go

All the plants I topped responded well.
All the plants I LST responded well.
So goes for the plants I supercropped, SCROGed, FIMed etc.

If you want to grow a SOG you'r better with topping than LST.
If you grow one plant you'll probably be better with LST or SCROG.

Theres really nothing that is "better".


My Sweet Deep Grapefruit and Jack the Ripper barely branched. If I was to LST them they would have just been lower to the ground.
If I was to top them I would have yielded slightly more, but I'm running a SCROG and usually don't like the extra work.

LST'n forms one big cola and weak branches???? maybe yours do
