Lowryder #2 - flowering - lighting question

Hi everyone,

My Lowryder 2 is now about 5 weeks old (though I appear to have lost count - oops!) and is coming along nicely except for a minor problem I sorted out - pics here: https://www.rollitup.org/marijuana-plant-problems/192388-poorly-lowryder-2-light-patches.html

My question is about light cycles. I've been growing them on 20/4 until now - but they're just starting to flower. I know that one of the selling points of Lowryder is that you don't have to reduce the number of lighting hours for it to flower anyway, but should you?

What do you guys reckon? Keep on 20/4? Reduce?

Thanks in advance,

JB1

It's under four 23w (100w equivalent) CFLs. I didn't know if that'd be enough but it seems to be doing fine :).

Then entire point of other cannabis plants going under a 12/12 light cycle indoors is so that they will begin to and continue to flower. With an autoflowering strain such as Lowryder #2 it would be pointless to do a 12/12 unless as Spliffbazz said you want to cut some hours off your electricty bill but with the lights you are using the electricity shouldn't be a problem and I doubt they'd do well on 12/12. I'd leave them on 20/4 or go to an 18/6 as to my understanding roots develop whilst they are in the dark. So an extra two hours of dark time would help build stronger healthier roots and in turn better buds so it is said. I'm using an 18/6 for my autoflowers and they are doing very good. Root development from the start was amazing from what I could tell while transplanting them. Though I've used nutrients specifically blended to assist root development so that obviously had some effect on them as well. I'd leave them at 20/4 or go to an 18/6. According to a grow guide by the Joint Doctor himself for Lowryder he recommends an 18/6 and says after a month you can go down 16/8 with no loss in yield. Thats all the information I can offer, hopefully it'll help you get things sorted out.

Very helpful :). Thanks very much. I think I'll take it down to 18/6 - I've not had my latest electricity bill and I'm worried it'll be crazy. Hehe.

Thanks both of you!
