lowryder 2 cfl vs hps

high folks,

ive been tossing this idea over in my mind for a few weeks now

im planning to do some lowryder#2xAK47 but i cant decide whether to go with a 250watt hps or 2 x 200w cfl,

heres my quandry

i like the idea of cfls to keep the nodes on the plant closer together to get closer budding and keeps bills down blah blah blah

i know that i will probably get a better quality yeild but i will be doin it in a small box so dont want to cook the bitch lol

somebody give me some inspiration as i seem to be going round in circles lol

just kidding

oh p.s. lets not make this end up in an arguemant about hps bein better lol i know this already but im going on conditions remember

i'm guessing you are talking about true 200w cfl's. along the lines of...plug and grow lamps

thats what i'm using and i love them. how big is your box though? they put out alot more heat than some people may lead you to believe. remember the ballast is connected to the light so you cant sit it outside of the grow box. also they are huge! about 40cm long.

nice one dude, 40cm?? fuck me thats bigger than i thought they were haha, what are you doing under it im thinking about lowryder auto flowering but cant decide which one to use as it automatically goes into flower you dont change the light period or whether to use bloom and veg lamp on at same time, 400watts that way!! i can sort out heat issues its not a problem so not too much of a problem

yeah i got a fright when i got my first one! they really are huge. you'd probably be best using one of each the whole way through but i've vegged with 2700k and got good results so you'd maybe get better yield with 2 red lamps.

i had no problem in my veg w/ the 2700k's. i think the girls really liked them all the way to harvest.

CFLs are much more spectrum balanced, even the warm bulbs, than HPS.

oh, and your questions cannot be properly answered without you explaining what you plan on growing in and what size space, what ventilation you're willing to fork out money for, and what kind of yields you're expecting.

I already did, you assclown.. if people don't call out people who post like you, this forum would be littered with hijackers and people who don't read threads before they post ... oops, too late.

well, believe it or not, I was trying to prevent an HPS vs. CFL argument, which the original poster specified he didn't want and wyteberry's post was sure to instigate.
