Looking to start my first grow and have a few questions for those more experienced...

Hey guys,

Over the past 3 or 4 years I've had some pretty significant anxiety/insomnia problems and haven't benefited much from the medication I've been taking, so I have thought about using marijuana medically. The only problem is that I live in Texas where medical use isn't legal, and live in a new city with zero contacts. I've been researching for a while on the net and reading this board for a while and I think I'm going to give a shot at growing my own.

Here's my first question. I'm kind of nervous about ordering marijuana seeds online, but I have read that Attitude Seed Bank is pretty reliable and safe. Would you recommend this site and is there a high chance I could get in trouble with the law?

My second question is, what kind of strain would you recommend for me? What I am looking for is something relatively hardy and forgiving because this will be my first time growing and will most likely make some mistakes. I am planning on growing a single plant for now, and was thinking about growing it in a 35-40 gallon plastic storage container...but I could just use a fairly large closet if I needed to. The seed I have been thinking about ordering is the lowryder 2 strain because I have read it's fairly easy to grow and doesn't require a whole lot of space. I also like how it can be harvested in roughly 2 months from planting, which seems really quick. I have also looked into the Easy Ryder (AK-47 x Lowryder mix) but I don't know how tall this grows and whether it takes longer to grow.

Would you recommend the Lowryder 2 or Easy Ryder? If not, what other strain would you think I should look into if I am interested in an easy grow, fast growth, and relatively potent with THC?

I will probably have many more questions as I progress, but right now I am just at the ordering stage. I appreciate any help you all can provide. Thanks.

Thanks a bunch for the reassurance. I'm glad I don't have to sit there for a week having a nervous breakdown wondering if I'm going to get busted.

And I really appreciate the tip about the prepaid card. So I can just do to Walgreens or wherever and buy a visa giftcard and that will work? That will be great.

good to know, Ken. The only reservation I had about growing more than one when I first started was that I was afraid I'd do something wrong with both and I'd waste more than one seed.

I'll also look into that nebula strain. Is it fairly easy to grow? That's basically my number one concern as a newbie grower.

When I recently used a money order with attitude, it was pretty stressful. I didn't get the beans until about 50 days after I sent it. Then again, that was around Christmas time. And the most important thing is that I got them, and they were quality. About Lowryder though, I'd advise it if you HAVE to grow an autoflower. It was the most potent autoflower I'd ever smoked. I'd advise doing a low scale grow for the first time though. Buds for less is a FANTASTIC book written by a RIU member (GardenKnowm). It'll hold you hand every single step of the way for your first grow, and shows you how to set yourself up for barely any money. Just my two cents!

Myself, I suffer also with anxiety, it really sucks, many of get togethors that I have had to leave. Sometimes that doesn't even fix it. Just recieved my order from Attitude, from my research this is the best company to deal with. But DrGreenThumb has great genetics, but he is a little spendy. He has a variety Oh!Zone that is just for anxiety, you should really check into it. As for the legality of it, as I understand it, there is no problem with possesing seeds, they can be used for sovieners. Somebody correct me if I am wrong.

I would not recommend growing in such a large container, very hard to move if needed. A 5 gal. pail would be a lot better. Make sure to put some holes in the bottom for drainage.

Myself, I am moving outdoors this year, to much family problems. I am growing Sweet Tooth, Sweet Dreams, Northern Lights, Oh!Zone, and Chemo Iranian.

With the prepaid giftcards, has anyone used the "Vanilla visa giftcard" at Attitude? I got it at the grocery store, but looked it up at vanillavisa.com and they said it has to be registered for online use, which I guess I'm OK with, but it also said some international businesses don't accept it. Anyone know whether Attitude does or not?

Also, does anyone know around what the seed to harvest time is for something like a lowryder 2 grown indoors? I know the outdoor grow is supposed to be 9 weeks but I'm assuming it can be grown much faster with more light indoors.

from what i been readin autos are gonna flower at a set time now matter what, u might could have a better yield depending on your environment, but the same timeframe
