Looking for comments on lights before buying

Before I order my light, I could use some good/bad comments,advise,etc. about the type of lights one should use. My tent is in basement and next to window(figure I could mount a exhuast fan there if need be). It is 2x4x7and will probably go with a 400 watt HPS. Is there going to be a heat issue here and if so should I go air-cooled. If there is an 6" exhaust is that going to be enough for a hood that is NOT air-cooled? This is my first attempt at this and just trying to get a handle on it before hand. Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to help us first timers..............

I use a 400 watt mh/hps htg. I made it into a cool tube. Cheap and easy, I cool mine with a inline 4inch fan

Sounds like you got a handle on it. Care to share on how you did it? I rather much go to the 4".

I did this for my 400 watt reflector, its in a tent in a basement also with a 6 inch exhaust in the tent roof..Can hold your hand right on top of the reflector forever if ya want
