Lollipopping in early/mid veg?

I'm about to FIM my plant again, and while i have the scissors out i was wondering if there is any point in removing some of the lower branches which never get much light. Would this stop the plant from wasting its time down below and force its efforts into places better for me, or would i be wasting my time?

it is a pretty young plant so it might stress it, but with the amount you have boxed in on your pic I dont think it really matters, or if it would really divert that much energy.

I guess it's just more of how you like to see your plant. I personally cut off the big fan leafs when close to harvest so them "lumens" get to the lower buds as well. Mary-Jane is a pretty tough weed to kill.

I've taken a crop of plants and topped them all at the 3rd node, waited for them to recover, then trimmed all the fan leaves off. It creates a very bushy, lollypop type plant and it didn't seem to affect my overall yield and male/female ratio.
