Lollipoping dring flowering

I have 4 girls just one week in to flowering. They have just exploded outwards with growth and now they have formed a pretty solid canopy. Is it ok to cut of the lower branches and lollipop them while they are flowering or will that cause them to hermie? Also I have heard that lollipoping is questionable about wether or not it really boosts yield. Is this something I should do? Thanks for the help guys.

the way i look at it is a plant knows how to grow better than you do. If its done with a leaf it falls off. All you can do is pervide the best atmosphere for the plant. Right light,time of light,ferts,temp,humidity,co2 levels,water ect.
