In the interest of saving money I am considering using loam which I have in abundance instead of buying promix bails. I would use it as my main medium as well as my soil ammendments. My concern is my huge loan pile has been sitting for years. Will bugs or diseases be a concern? Worth coughing up for the bails or not?
