Little help

Hi , at the moment i have 1 kc brains special haze in a strealth closet grow set up. I'm very limited in what I can do with the space atm i've got a 160w dual spectrum cfl grow light will this be suficent enough? and also im having a problem with some of leaves the ends of the leaves are going yellow/brown and crispy and will fall of if touched could this be due to using water straight from the tap or nutrient deficancy? thanks

That could be caused by a number of stuff. Yes - plain tap water can often be way too alkaline ( or acidic). This will cause a nutrient lockout.
Another thing (which i think it it) could be overfeeding - is that soil for new small plants or is it regular with nutrients? - small seed plants should have soil with little or almost no nutrients.

This is not a problem with your lights.

Is it just the very bottom leaves doing that? You shouldn't have to feed the first 10-14 days. When the first leaves start to yellow, it's time to introduce nutrients, gradually.

Nice that you had one germ... My luck with KC Brains has been shitty.... Any seeds that do germinate quickly die off..... poor genetics, as my Nirvana seeds don't have that issue..

hmmm.... my tap water is 8.5 ph.... The majority of taps are between 6-8.5 anything between 6-7 should be fine.

Isn't this just emphasing what i said? - my tap water is 8.5 too and i need to adjust this before feeding.

If you want to grow haze it can be done, but it's a little more efford than for instance an indica, but i just mean - if you want the high from the haze...what's you gonna do ;O)
But i agree with you that indica is easier for most people to controll. Personally i would put the haze on "espalier" on the walls - like a SOG ;O)

That is not what you just said.. :) 8.5 is not acidic..... anything below 7.o is on the acidic side. :) You were right when you said alkaline, or 'sweet'

I know that - i wrote that tap water can be too alkaline (or acidic) - 8.5 is too alkaline right? Tap water can go to be too acidic too. I know lots of people who have to add some ph-up to the acidic tap water to get it higher. Think you misunderstood my post (or i didn't explain it thoroughly enough)

I'm sure I misunderstood it. :) I started off growing soil and using tap water.. I always had to use PH down and never needed PH up until I went hydro, so that is weird to me that people would need to ph up their tap water.

Yes - it was new to me too. I don't know if it's in the Everglades, or where the guys are from, but im pretty sure from the state, as in my country it's almost always a little alcaline. It probably has something to do with chalk in the underground as plain water should be 7 right? Some places probably just have acidic ground making water a bit more acidic. Anyway - i remember being confused as one of these guys had plant issues and i told him that he needed to ph-down tap water some to make it good - the guy just didn't understand why since his tap water was very acidic.

Thanks for all the help. The top leaves are also starting to gradulally turn that way. I'm also thinking that it mabye a heat issue as i have no ventalation in there? I was going to try grow with out nutes but i think im going to get some.

Don't you have a fan on them? - if not, having a slight breeze over them is very important - it's just much more important than people think. Have never had a healthy plant growing without the fan.

too be from the bad image it kinda looks like your just burning up your plant maybe move the light a little bit up ward top your plant and let it bush out a little

seedlings don't need much light, move it away to 8" for the next couple of days.... I wouldn't give it direct light until at least the first set of true leaves have fully developed. You have to watch for stretching, but you don't want to dry out the young tender leaves either.

This small i don't think it's your problem, but i would definitely get a fan to move the air and move the plant - juuust slightly (if a plant is very short and robust - don't boost air movement to make the plant move ;O) )
Could be the lights as Irish25 says - couldn't hurt it to move the lamp to maybe twice this - also to let it rest a bit while recovering now it's ill.
