lights and ballast

what would be a good light and ballast system for a closet grow. my closet is about 9 ft. long and about 2 1/2 feet wide. im looking to use 1 1000 watt set up that wont run me to much. any help would be great...

im using two four foot flourescent fixtures with two plant bulbs and two daylight bulbs with four hanging cfls and getting nice results. plus its not too hard on the wallet.

ull need good vent and fanning with 1000watt.. get a digital balast so u can switch between mh and hps.... id suggest getting a kit online with everything u need

you need an exhaust to get rid of the heat and you need fresh air coming in.
that bulb will raise your temp by about 20 degrees F. or more if there is no exhaust.

You'd get better coverage with 3 400s imho. The shape of your closet means that a single big light source will only light about half of it adequately.
Only thing is the different wattage lights all cost roughly the same so it'd drive up the startup costs, but you would reap the rewards.
Before you start buying lights, make sure you can properly ventilate the room, hid lighting puts out lots of heat.

you could also use a light mover so you get better coverage with whatever light you choose
