is there a better light than a 1000 watt air cooled high pressure sodium

it completely depends on you use.. Where it's being used, i.e. Your setup..
if you have bad air circulation for example, perhaps a LED light would be better off..

Your question was very ambiguous. If you have tons of money to blow this would be a great item to try. Its new technology so nobody really knows how well it works yet.
