question ? i am new at this so excuse me but can i get away with florecent style lights or will i need a hps or metal halide your help is greatly appreciated

you can use fluro tubes or cfl's to grow the t5's are best for the tubes
you want cool white bulbs 6400k for vegging and the soft white 2700k light for flowering
a mix of the 2 would be best for both and you should keep the lights pretty much touching your plants
