Lighting....

Hey all

I have placed an order for the following seeds.
1 feminized super silver haze
1 feminised big bang
1 feminised lemon skunk
1 feminized white rhino
1 feminized hawaiian snow

I am going to be growing them indoors under a fluorescent light. Would a fluorescent light be able to grow the above strains?

Or can someone recommend me a CHEAP alternative (that ships to the UK and can you tell me the price in £)

you can grow 5 plants on floros, but i cant recommend it, and this is coming from someone who grows with CFL's. for the money and time your gonna end up dumping into floro you can get a decent hps.

that said again yes its possible to grow with clfs we have a whole forum for it. for 5 plants your gonna need quite a few cfls or quite a few floro tubes. if your gonna use cfls come up with a inventive rig to make effective use of the light. and keep the lights close to the plants. you can grow really nice buds, but you will wanna keep your plants smaller as floros do no have the best light penetration.

First of thank you for taking the time to reply.

So instead of buying multiple cfls i should just get 1/2 hps? If was to use fluorescent lights on the above strains. Would the yield still be a good one or would there be a big significant difference if i was to use a hps?

yes like he said floros do not have the best light penetration.You have a sativas in there as well so they will grow longer than the indicas.I would say get a 150 hps to make your grow effective.You can use the floros to veg and use the hps to flower.Since sativas take longer to flower you might want to flower them first after a month then put the rest in there.

There's a grower on hear named Roseman. He does some exceptional grows with pretty big plants using only cfl's. You should look him up.

for cfl's to be really effective especially with 5 plants your gonna need either several big ones or a crazy amount of lil ones. just get an hps and dont waste your money on cfl's like i did. p.s. just so no one gets all pissy, it is very possible to have a good grow with only clf's. just might be a lil harder

I agree get a 150 hps or a 250 hps thru the whole grow and you will be amazed.

using floros you could still get a decent yeild but it will be bigger with hps. they quality will probably be about the same. i grew one plant under cfls and it was possibly the best ive ever smoked. i kept it small. got just over 1 oz off it after right at 3 months. it also went hermi on me about a month into flower, and it was my first grow. still got some nice buds. if i woulda had hps i would probably vegged longer and maybe got 2 oz off it. i was using a t8 shop light fitted with extra sockets for cfls, like 7 or so cfls added with it. here are some pics of the plant.

as well this is the rig i grewit with and the new rig, tryin to get fan installed so i can get the big one going.

want to keep mother plants going. Will not bud them under cfl, but will they grow and be able to be cloned?

Yeah just leave the cfls lighting on 24/0 they will love it.
