lighting?

we have been growing our sativa under an 18 watt flouresant for 7/8 weeks and its around 2 foot tall and its been in flowering stage only 1 week. will we need to use a much more powerful light to grow nice buds? btw we are first timers

actually 3000 minimum but i would agree with 5000 and any more than 7000 is a waste of light mony and electricity the sun puts out 10000 on a clear day in direct sun but that dn't happen every day rain, clouds, trees drops that number down a lot and 5000 is a great number to shoot for figure 1 foot away where you are gonna have it unless you got a cooltube would prolly knock you down to 4000 anyway
