Lighting questions

Whats up, im trying to set up a closet system for 2 plants that are already 11/2-2 feet tall. right now i just have them under a standard 300w lightbulb that i got from home depot and i know that is not gonna cut it, so im not trying to spend that much so let me know whats my best bet.

If your using the huge cfl they have you wasted your money, im pretty sure its only putting out around 5,000 lumens. For a quick and cheap setup get two power strips and buy 6 40watt cfl's and 6 outlet adapters to put the bulbs in, 3 on each strip. They'll put out about 15,000 lumens. Hang em upside down a few inches above your plants and watch em grow. Make sure to work out some venting system!

ideally a lower watt hps or mh

i have a 250w hps for my closet, it is just 3'x3' and 2 pc fans for exhaust

Ideally HPS (400-1000 watts) for flowering (no substitutes). Anything less will yield really fluffy buds. As far as veg lighting, floros or CFLs will give a good wide spectrum or metal halide if you have the cash.
