Lighting question about fan

hey guys, canadian here looking to buy a light from the best possible place. Looking for a digital ballast, 1000w. Found this and I was wondering how I would be able to set it up for a 6" fan.. if I even can. Doesn't look like it so I guess my question is, how would I keep it cool?

They certainly look like the equipment that you need but I can't vouch for the quality of that ballast. To me it does look like a un-branded Chinese model... I dunno, How do you feel generally about cheap un-branded Chinese electronic equipment?

I personally buy branded stuff beit a stereo or a ballast.

BUT YES, you are on the right track.

It has a flange to hook up a fan... If it comes with a piece of glass then it's equivalent to a cool tube when it comes to being ventable. It might not come with the glass though - often you must purchase that separately.

/e I didn't look at it closely enough. The hood in fact is sealed just like a cool tube. Notice they don't say the kit includes the hood though - Might want to double check that - I would assume it does but you just never know.

  • Includes (1) - 1000 watt high pressure sodium bulb - 125,000 lumens high output - color temperature: 2,100k - avg. life 20,000 - 24,000 hours
  • Includes (1) - 1000 watt metal halide bulb - 110,000 lumens high output - avg. life 10,000 hours
  • Both bulbs increase light output by 10% over standard bulbs = 10 % more plant growth. 30% more blue/violet provides better range for your plant.
  • Digital ballast ballast is 120/240v, but comes with a 120v cord
  • Includes timer and adjustable hanger system

Yea a 6" fan would work with that hood. Watch out what your buying and where from though, some places are better than other on ebay. Check out HTG, they seem to be pretty popular for there resonable prices.
