Lighting Help!

hey okay i found 10 bulbs yesterday in my neighbours house i took them and they look mh i duno what watt

if i plug into my hps ballast will it work?

im thinking its 1000w and i got 1000watt hps but if is smaller then 1000watt what will happend?

there is no writing on the bulb and how can i tell if there burnt out?

they might work if they're those MH Conversion bulbs... if you don't know, i would take them to a lighting supply warehouse, or ask an electrician over the phone... If you put them in a higher wattage ballast, i think they would just brn out super quick, if not pop somehow, but am not fershure on that...
