im using a full spectrum light that seems to be working great, i cant find the box but im pretty sure its daylight spectrum, i was noticing that my seedlings are growing sort of tall and i heard they are sposed to be short and mush like so my qurstion is:

does it matter at this stage how tall they are

and if the light im using has too much red light should i put a uv black light along with the light im using to balance it?

What type of light? Sounds like CFL or floro in general from what you said.
If so get them down _low_. Sounds like the plants are stretching searching for light.

Don't use the UV light. UV isn't good. IR isn't nearly as bad, but its heat.

Get the daylight/6500K lights and keep 'em *real* close to the plants. Like 25-50mm (1-2inches)

A light breeze on them will help strengthen the stem/stalks
