You will need 3000 to 6500 lumens for the veg cycle. don't think u should use cfl's for flowering cycle.

i would say get four 27w CFLs, and if you really want get 6500s(daylight) for Veg and 3000(soft white, or bright white) for Flower

a speaker box will heat up like a motherfucker with a living plant and lights. if you go to your local department store (wal-mart, lowes, home depot...) they will most likely carry CFLs that are in a range of 40 to 60 watts putting out 2500 to 3500 lumens a piece. Using one of these for veg is sufficient if you are planning on growing a small plant which you would have to be doing if you are growing in a speaker box. I would highly suggest painting the inside white or purchasing some reflective mylar from a department or hardware store. I use one 45 watt cfl in a custom built cabinet and i still have problems with heat and that is with a 115v exhaust fan and the doors open. growing in something as small as a speaker box is going to be a challenge especially when you start to flower. this is when the plant needs more light and the plant will be creating more heat so adding light would not be an option. I would suggest something bigger,, i constructed my veg box out of an old malamine bookshelf.. equiped with a door and venting... here are some pics to give you an idea of my veg box.
the dimensions of this box are 16w x 11d x 32h

note: this is not the box i use to flower,, that is a closet/cabinet with dimensions of 3.5w x 1.5d x 5h... that is where i use my 70 watt HPS with vertical tube flourescants @ 30watts each on both sides of the plant and the temp is maxed out in that as well

p.s. for vegging with cfl go with a colour temperature of aprox 6500 k

i dont have the option to get a bigger area. i painted the inside with flat white paint and gutted everything so it just an empty box but from the outside it looks like a normal speaker. do u have any ideas on how i could ventilate the area since i cant get anything bigger?

115v 4 inch fans like the one i have are great.. they cost about 10 bucks and can be wired directly to your outlet... i would suggest two of them... an intake near the bottom and an exhaust near the top (heat rises)

where do u think i could get one like a radio shack? im only going to use one and cut a big hole in the back for a passive intake with foam so block light but can still suck in air

alright.do u think one fan would create enough suction to pull air in from an passive intake hole with foam over it?

if you have one exhaust and a passive intake you will end up with negative atmospheric pressure in the grow chamber.. most growers prefer to have their grow room/chamber at a positive atmospheric pressure to keep out small critters such as mites. small critters like this will not get sucked into the chamber with a postive pressure because it will act as a wall.

as for the suction im not too sure what you mean... of course it will draw air from the hole because it has to get replace the air it sucks out one way or another.. just make sure that your intake hole is the same size or larger than your exhaust... typical 115v fans are 4" so you would want a hole at with a radius of at least 4" or a square 4"x4" as an example
