lighting, CFL's

whats up guys, im making a little grow room, to fit in my closet right now. I plan on getting 4 40w CFL's, for my first plant. When i get the bulbs in the right place i want them in the box, how am i going to power them? arent they meant to be in a lamp or something? been wondering about this. i appreciate it very much.



another question for the near future.. i'm going to move out into my own apt. and i already have 1000w, 600w, 400w HPS, fans, and nutes, just waitin on the seeds from a buddy.. Can i use a power generator to power these, instead of just using my utilities i'm paying for, at the apt. the lights were given to me, i only plan on using the 1000w for starting off. Then maybe later on get another

Keep it simple man, if your doing it in a apt just use cfls and get a couple of grow lights, works great

its between an apt or a condo. i can get a condo 300$ a month, utilities paid.

id go with the condo with utilities paid man, but you still have to watch your usage, they have seperate meters and still watch that shit. Good growing to ya man. Its a great hobby with awesome out come.

thats why i was curious.. could i use a power generator to power just my grow room, so that it won't make the elec. bill sky rocket? i dont mind if it does, the landlords are relatives... But i think in the long run a power generator is cheaper IMO

There are tons of appliances and gadgets that people regularly use that use more than 300w. Unless you are using well over 1000w I don't think anyone will notice, especially if you are power frugal in other areas.

i'm not worried about it right now, i am when i move.. because i have a 1000w. I'm just not going to use it until i move.
