lighting and grow stages stages

When you start the flowering cycle right when you start do you change the light cycle to 12/ 12 from starting flowering to end of flowering for about 55-65 days, i am wondering once Veg. has ended do i switch the 18/6 to 12/12 for flowering the hole 55-65 days, also is their something specific to look for to tell when a plant is done with the veg. stage and start to flower? how do you know it is flowering, a smell or some details on the plant or something? Also does the plant stop growing in height once i change the light cycle to 12/12 and it starts flowering

You choose when you want to put the plant into flowering stage. some plants with triple in size from veg to flowering stage. The light is 18/6, 20/4, or even 24/0 for veg and 12/12 for flowering

so when I feel their big enough to a reasonable height i can adjust the light to 12/12 and it start the flowering stage, Cool

do you mean once i switch them to flower they will get up to 3x bigger/ taller still OR do they STOP growing taller at the end of the Veg stage, I thought at the end of the veg. stage they stop growing tall and when flower stage starts the leaves start to grow?
